I do like a good crime read and this hit all the right buttons! Constable Fiona Griffiths is a young 25 year old DC and put in charge of a murder enquiry and she must prove herself to her boss DCI Jackson. This story is not so much about the plot and the fact that some nasty murderers must be bought to justice, no it's more about the rather odd personality of Mz Griffiths and her somewhat unusual condition Cortard's Syndrome. The reader gets a nice insight into this disease and this really added to the book and highlights the rather depressive personality of Mz Griffiths. So if you want to read a different type of crime/police procedure then give Talking to the Dead a try and enjoy meeting the rather quirky DC Griffiths....
